How Does the Valuable Cargo Customs Clearance Process Work?

1. Preliminary assessment and document check: We analyze the type, value and destination country of the shipment, and complete documents such as the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, assay and analysis reports and, for rough diamonds, the Kimberley Process Certificate before the cargo departs.

2. Secure pickup: The shipment is collected in sealed, serial-numbered packaging; seal numbers are recorded in a handover report at every change of hands, and the shipment is escorted to the valuables vault in the customs area.

3. Declaration and inspection: The declaration is registered electronically. If an inspection is required, it is carried out under the supervision of authorized personnel and under camera recording; at no stage do the goods leave the security perimeter.

4. Duties, guarantees and permits: We calculate the applicable customs duties and other obligations in advance, and manage guarantees and deadlines on your behalf under regimes such as temporary import or inward processing.

5. Delivery by armored vehicle: Once procedures are complete, the shipment is delivered to the consignee by armored vehicle with a security escort and insurance coverage matching its value; the process is documented with handover reports.
